Augusta National Golf Club was founded in 1932 by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts on the site of a former indigo plantation in Augusta, Georgia. The course was designed by golf architect Alister MacKenzie. The Masters has been held at Augusta National every year since 1934 (with a wartime break 1943–45), making it the only major always played at the same course. The 18-hole course is known for Amen Corner (holes 11–13), the par-5 15th, and the treacherous 12th hole over Rae's Creek. The winner receives the iconic Green Jacket.
